Course Number & Title:  607 A New Challenge:  The Learning Center's Single-Hand Spey Ladder and the MCI SH Spey Tasks

Presenter:  Russ Carpenter (CI), Rick Williams (MCI, THMCI)

Description:  In this two-hour virtual presentation, we'll introduce the new 2-level Single Hand (SH) Spey Skills Development Program.  The program will introduce the new SH Spey Program and the SH Spey tasks in Level 1 and Level 2, and how they sequence up the more challenging SH Spey tasks in the CICP's Single-Hand Master Exam.  We'll give an overview of Single Hand Spey casting, including appropriate rods and lines for the Skill Levels, definitions, and some drills that will help develop SH Spey Skills.  Participants will be emailled supporting materials.

Course Number & Title:  425 Virtual Video Casting Analysis Using OnForm – Part B

Presenter:  Willy George

Description:  This casting workshop is designed for all casting skill levels and casting instructors.  This is a two-part workshop via Zoom:  Part A is on Friday and Bart B is on Sunday.  Students are expected to attend both days to benefit from the instruction.  On Friday, we will cover key elements of the casting stroke and introduce a video casting analysis tool called OnForm.  Volunteers who want to have their casting technique analyzed will take videos of their casts on Saturday using a free version of the OnFrom app that the instructor will send them.  Then on Sunday, the entire student group will listen to feedback with a Master Casting Instructor while watching the on-screen analysis of the casting videos using the OnForm app.  This workshop will teach innovative ways to improve both your casting and teaching.

Description:  Maine is the last stronghold for wild native lake- and pond-dwelling brook trout in the United States, accounting for more than 90% of the reamining intact populations.  The number one threat to these native trout is invasive fish introductions, both game and bait species.  Approximately 585 of Maine's self-sustaining brook trout lakes and ponds are protected under the State Heritage Fish law.  A citizen driven legislative action, the law prohibits stocking and the use of live fish as bait.  This program is designed for anyone who loves brook trout and is interested in efforts to protect and preserve remaining native populations.

Description:  I will go over how to weave the Woven Body Caddis Larva.  I do not know if having a two-toned body makes a difference when fishing nymphs.  I know some fly anglers swear that it works as a trigger to attract fish.  I do like how it looks, and the natural insect does not have one color but a few different shades.  This fly will sink quickly and can be used for high stick nymphing in pocket water.
