Michigan Anglers' Base Camp

Michigan Anglers’ Base Camp is an adult program of MITTEN Outdoors Adventures & Events/Michigan Crossroads Council of Scouting America, brought to you in collaboration with Tim Guilfoile, Life Member of FFI and other members of the fly fishing community. The camp provides an opportunity for fly fishing clubs and individual anglers to experience some of the best fly fishing in the world at a very affordable price.

Furthermore, there is a charitable purpose to the camp. The proceeds from Anglers’ Base Camp support the Michigan Crossroads Council, Scouting America in pursuit of their mission; to develop character, integrity and leadership in today’s youth through quality programs, outdoor experiences, and service to the community.

Michigan Anglers’ Base Camp is located right in the center of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula at Camp Rotary in Clare, Michigan. It has one of our country’s clearest spring-fed lakes (550 acres) and over 1,100 acres of scenic rolling hills and fragrant pine trees, making it one of the most beautiful camps in the country. This is the is the perfect basecamp for all of your fly fishing adventures.

The camp runs weekly starting in May 2025.  The cost of the camp is $580 for the full weeks and $385 for the one short week — all inclusive, this includes all food (all the time) and lodging in modern facilities with each accomodation having its own showers, bathrooms and sinks (does not include getting to and from camp). Our location affords the opportunity to fish the waters throughout “northern-lower” Michigan, including on the Au Sable, Pere Marquette, and Manistee Rivers and at least 8 other Class A trout waters plus lakes and streams galore where smallmouth and other species abound.
