Fly Fishers International intends to employ a professional Executive Officer to lead the organization in its representation of the fly fishing community around the world. Responsibilities of the Executive will be to oversee and expand its operations, represent a strong conservation voice for “all fish in all waters”, maintain excellence in all aspects of fly fishing education, foster community for all who fish with the artificial fly and establish a strong financial base to ensure fly fishing as an enduring outdoor experience.
Fly Fishers International (FFI) intends to expand its relevance as a leading, non-profit organization that represents fly fishers around the world through conservation, education and development of community. The Board of Directors (BOD) of FFI has determined that employment of a professional Executive Officer will be necessary to achieve its mission and vision as that leading organization.
Mission: The Mission of FFI is to support, enhance and preserve fly fishing opportunities. Fundamental to this mission is environmental stewardship and education.
Vision: FFI is the only outdoor sports organization exclusively representing fly fishing for all fish and all waters. Our connection is education. We strive to be the best fly fishing educators in four areas: casting, fly tying, fly fishing skills and conservation.
The Executive Officer (EO) will be a leader who inspires the organization to engage in its deeply worthwhile mission and vision. The EO will possess the skills to continue developing and leading the organization's strategic plan, achieving the organizations mission and vision and greatly enhancing FFI’s fundraising resources, membership growth and relevance to the fly fishing community. The EO should be skilled in leading the organization by utilizing its volunteer leaders and education-based communication strategies to advance critical policy and fundraising objectives.
The EO will be a person who has a keen desire to develop sustainable partnerships with similar non-profits, corporations, foundations, public policy leaders and individual donors to advance FFI’s conservation/education mission. The EO will work with the Chairman of the BOD to enhance the governance and leadership capabilities of the BOD.
The EO will work with FFI volunteers to carry FFI’s conservation /education/community message to critical international, national, state, private and public sector leaders. It will be essential for the EO to bring a genuine excitement and commitment to leading achievement of FFI’s mission. The EO must be an intellectually agile and engaging individual. The EO will lead and establish FFI as a relevant organization that represents fly fishers of “all fish in all waters” around the world.
